With three precious granddaughters across town, there was no way our client was going to let time slip away watching them grow up. With her mind set on creating a cheerful, safe, and fun place at the beach to make memories with her special girls, she assembled her favorite design and construction team to begin the year-long process of creating this unique home. If there is such a thing as a favorite client, this family would fit the bill (no pun intended). From years of experience together, we did not need to be told that clean lines, crafted details, contrast, texture, low maintenance surfaces, advanced home automation and sound systems, safety and fun, friendly embellishments were on the must-have list.
This three-story home began with an Arts and Crafts style on the exterior and evolved into a beautiful blend between the client’s preferences for a sophisticated, well-detailed, colorful, contemporary coastal getaway along with a playful cottage feel. The architect provided an open concept living area with plenty of nooks and crannies for the girls to get lost in play pretend. Furniture and finishes were selected to be comfortable yet durable so that they would stand the test of time for generations of children and pets to come.
